The shift to the UK has certainly paid off for the New Zealand-born sax player judging from this, his latest long-player. Having teamed up with House veteran Phil Asher (production and writing) 'Sound Travels' combines a fluid, funked-up, freeform aesthetic with the deep lush beat fuelled grooves of the contemporary UK house scene. The result is a deliciously sweet slice of cool nu-jazz, pure pleasure for those who have got off on the likes of St Germain. Recommended.
