English sampler boffin Matthew Herbert created something of a minor thematic house music masterpiece with his last album Around The House, taking the noises of everyday household implements and blending up beautiful beats to back the equally enticing vocals of collaborator Dani Siciliano. This time the theme is the human body, with mad Mr Herbert sampling laser surgery, knees popping and teeth being brushed, and as an album it's every bit as good as (if not better than) its predecessor. Sticking to his own musical Rules Of PCCOM (pertaining to the use of organic samples), Herbert again hooks up with Siciliano and fellow vocalist Luca Santucci, and this time adds jazz instrumentation by both himself and a range of excellent guest players. The net result? More bouncy, blippy Herbert brilliance, with excellent arrangement and a lovely organic feel. Top stuff.
