Neat debut from this highly original New Zealand band specialising in a unique brand of punchy power pop. Comparisons - many and varied - influences ranging from Public Image Limited, DD Smash, Perry Farrell (of Jane's Addiction), Beta Band, Split Enz, The Cars (their first album), The Clean, Blur, the list goes on - making for an album of complex diversity and endless sonic inventiveness. Excellent production by the band (with mixing and engineering assistance) adds a cohesive nature to an album that chops and changes with wilful abandon, undeniably part of it's charm. Featuring the singles 'Good' and 'Sophie', this enchanting set of pop songs is well worth investigation.
