The latest from the Beta's finds them returning to their natural soulful drift of the 'Three EPs' as they re-invent their own brand of unique chorally tinged, sample strewn ambient indie-meets-r&b. The combination of their propulsive psychedelic folk-hop and singer Steve Mason's timeless, lovelorn crooning over the band's swoonsome vocal harmonies, creates a gorgeous and highly addictive melancholic indie-pop noise - think 'Mutations' era Beck with groove to spare and you're getting close. This sweet little curve-ball is one of the finest, and most understated releases of the year. Thoroughly recommended.
