The crown prince of (acid) jazz guitar returns with a new album, this timecentred around the big city sounds of urban America. Recording primarily inNew York City with additional sessions in Philadelphia, Jordan has taken onnot only the hip-hop/r&b/soul influence of his surroundings, but enlistedsome top US talent to help with the task. DJ Spinna is responsible forproduction of a couple of tracks (the house tune 'On The Record' and itsdownbeat counterpart 'Off The Record'), as are Philly duo James Poyser andVikter Duplaix (producers for Erykah Badu among others). The latter pairintroduce a couple of stunning new vocalists in Fay Simpson and Sy Smith, and rappers Love-Child and Excite also appear. With the help of thesefriends, Ronny's managed to capture a crisp, fresh sound straight from thestreets, while his guitar playing stays just as cool as ever.
