Good long-player from London-based Alex Attias aka Beatless on the excellent American label Ubiquity. The sound falls firmly into the Gilles Peterson, left-of-centre head-beatz genre - which isn't really a genre at all, more an experimental style. The tracks themselves are a mixture of downbeat with off-kilter spoken word vocals, upbeat jazzy beakbeat numbers and some almost ambient tunes as well - it's a mixed bag indeed, but it all hangs together well as an LP. Chuck in a couple of wind guest spots from our own Mark de Clive-Lowe (several vocals as well no less!) and Nathan Haines, and you've got an LP that's perfect for all occasions, especially the summer. Recommended.
