If you ever had the opportunity to come across the brief pop career of Darcy Clay you were the richer for it. A charasmatic and shambling performer, he had a certain 'star' quality, unashamedly taking his unique brand of lo-fi pop to an undesrving world. This reissue-come-anthology combines his first EP 'Jesus I Was Evil' (including his stunning version of the Dolly Parton classic 'Jolene') with a selection of tracks taken from his live support for Blur, and a bonus CD-Rom covering his short but lively charge at stardom. What becomes quickly apparent, is that his untimely death robbed the NZ music public of a very special and original personality. A genuine tragedy for all concerned.
