"Define my sound? I don't think it's about defining my sound, it's more that most of my songs create some emotion, or a mood. I try to capture one if not all of the elements of funk, soul, rhythm and melody. If you can harness three or four of those in a song, then you're on the way to making music people like."
(Audiosauce, June 2002)
Capitalrecordings are proud to announce the release of their first artist long-player, "Diversecity" by Audiosauce.
Wellington-based producer Miles Tilly has created eight tracks (plus a couple of sneaky extras) of sublime listening pleasure, ranging from the instrumental and sample-driven "Hops Scotch" and "Experiments in Experience" to the unmistakable house sound of "Tussock Theory" and the mid-tempo head-nodder of "Gangster 101". Featured on the 'Earwork 02' and 'Earwork 03' compilations, this is a diverse-yet-coherent debut album from this young man (with a huge future) which will amply reward any patient listener. Contemporary music takes another forward step in Aotearoa. Recommended. |
