After making an up-tempo departure from their signature chilled out trip-pop sound on their previous album, Morcheeba have returned to their laid-back best with this latest effort, enlisting a fine guest cast to ensure a varied feel. Kurt Wagner of acclaimed alternative country group Lambchop features on 'What New York Couples Fight About', while elsewhere hip-hoppers Pacewon of The Outsidaz and old school rap star Slick Rick chip in to add a street-wise twist. But fans of silky-voiced singer Sky should fear not she's still the star of this show and in great form whether backing up those distinguished guests or going it alone on more delicate material which for the most part seems to sample mostly from soundtracks and sixties pop, giving 'Charango' an exotic retro feel.
