The 'soundtrack' to a live Muse DVD filmed over two nights in Paris in October 2001, this two CD set features not only audio recordings of a large chunk of the concerts in question, but a second disc of b-sides and rarities recorded over the past few years. The live CD starts in full throttle with a devastating rendition of the single 'Dead Star', and from the reaction of the 12,000-strong crowd throughout the eleven song set you can tell that Muse really put on a great live show. While the live disc documents the band's searing raw energy with a straight-up, hit-packed performance, the other disc offsets it well with a look at the width and depth of their abilities on a varied and very good collection of lesser-known songs. All in all this is a perfect companion to the DVD itself, and there's more thanenough great music here to keep fans going until Muse's next album proper.
