Solo album number four from ex-Warratahs frontman Barry Saunders, this time teaming up with Wellington producers Mike Gibson and David Long (ex-Mutton Birds), and toning down the overt country references in exchange for a more subtler songwriter style approach. The result is superb, easily his best solo work - the songwriting is strong and well developed, while the sympathetic musical backdrop adds real depth to the songs, highlighting a real maturity in the overall sound and recording approach. An excellent album from a genuine New Zealand songwriting talent. Recommended.
