Quite the connoisseur of Brazilian beats both old and new, German Rainer Trby is undoubtedly one of the top tastemakers in "new jazz" flavours, as both an in-demand DJ and head of his own acclaimed production unit Trby Trio. His killer compilation series Glcklich is now five volumes old and firmly established as the definitive one-stop shop for the best of Brazilian flavours of the past and present. This time around there's classics on offer from Brazil's Jorge Ben and Spanish group Aquarius Y Luiz Antonio, as well as the welcome return of old school Brazilian group Os Ipanemas after some 35 years outside the studio. On the modern front, there's tasty takes on the afro-cuban feel from artists based all around the globe, including Italy's Nicola Conte, German duo Les Gammas (with guest vocalist Nina Miranda of Smoke City) and Spain's Wagon Cooking, all of whom have exclusive tracks included.
