Finnish producer Jori Hulkkonen continues his run of great records for F Communications with another deep and delicious album. Beginning with the sublime downbeat opener "We Are Rising Sun", Hulkkonen weaves a fine blend of sampled strings, synths, drum machines and countless other instruments into a solid, spacious and sonically pleasing hour long excursion into home-listening house music. Highlighted by the odd understated vocal and underpinned with a debt to classic Detroit techno (particularly on the collaboration with fellow Finn Tuomas Salmela), Hulkkonen serves up some great sounds for fans of chilled-out house music. For fans of Llorca, Groove Armada and St Germain's 'Boulevard'. Recommended.
