A founding member of Salmonella Dub, Christchurch producer Rockwood apparently recorded this album under the influence of someone else's medication after being hit by a train, which goes some way to explaining the "Trippers" part of the album title and the somewhat psychedelic sounds found therein. Those trippy, trancey qualities of Salmonella Dub's earliest recordings are more evident here than in the Dub's own recent efforts and people are in for something more like a Gathering flashback than a night out at your average AK "house" club. 'Trippers Guide To House' is a stonking multi-layered mash-up of dub, house, techno, trance and countless other dance music styles, making for a unique and always interesting listening experience. Recommended.
