Perhaps the most popular of the late eighties James Brown compilations, 'In A Jungle Groove' is the one JB album we should all own. Opening with the catchy sax riff of "Its A New Day" before moving into the most sampled song of all time "Funky Drummer", there isnt a bad tune in sight. The highlight for fans has to be the extended version of "Blind Man See It" originally on the soundtrack to 'Black Caesar', and a bonus to this reissue. With other tracks including "Talkin Loud & Sayin Nothing", "Give It Up Or Turnit A Loose" and the epic "Soul Power" this is a record to put on your "desert island" top five. With new sleeve notes, a decent remaster job and photos, you really cant go wrong. Recommended. |
