The second compilation from Auckland label Arch Hill continues in the same "quality" vein as the first - a vibrant mix of melodic indie and punk based New Zealand pop - the only difference being more variety, which to these ears is certainly an added bonus. Highlights include tracks from Minisnap, Mestar, David Mulcahy, Ghostplane, Gasoline Cowboy and of course label stalwarts Pine and Fang. If you enjoy New Zealand outfits such as The Mutton Birds, or the recent crop of Flying Nun acts such Betchadupa and PanAm, or excellent newcomers The Phoenix Foundation, this neat little compilation is well worth investigating. Recommended.
