Although criminally overlooked in this part of the world, Atlanta based T.I.s debut album 'Im Serious' shook the foundations of southern hip-hop, with the young rapper claiming to be king of the south. Although the first LP showed promise it is this sophomore release, 'Trap Muzik' that really adds claim to the title. As a lyricist T.I. is cocky, brash and very entertaining, combining Nellys flow with a tough street sense. Check the sublime ghetto funk of Be Easy or the controlled fury of No More Talk, making Eminem sounds like the Wombles. Producer Kanye West cuts up Bloodstones Im Just Doing My Job on the drug dealing epic Doin My Job, while hit single 24s is the ultimate southern jeep music, a tale of cruising Atlantas streets Ludacris would be proud of. T.I. also delivers the smoothness on I Still Luv You, rhyming about the loss of love, and pure humour on the awesome T.I. vs T.I.P.. 'Trap Muzik' appeals because of its gifted rap star, its banging southern beats and overall quality, so any fans of Goodie Mob and David Banner should jump on this, and we can only hope for a long and prolific career, cos T.I. rocks. Recommended.
