Blackseed's frontman Barnaby Weir steps forward under his solo alias Flash Harry with the stellar tune "Alright" from last year's self-titled debut CD (CREC1006) plus a great remix of "Alright" ("Better Than AlrightRemash") by Flash Harry and Fat Freddy's Drop hornman Tonie Naironi. The flip sees fellow Blackseed and Flight of the Conchords' mainman The Video Kid (aka Bret McKenzie) present two cuts of warm-singalong-downbeat goodness in the form of "Dawnskate-88" and "DJ'z Girlfriend". "Dawnskate-88" also gets the remix treatment by fellow Capital label mate Jet Jaguar, thereby inventing a new genre : folk-electronica. "Dawnskate-88" also has a video currently receiving airplay on C4. Recommended.
