The Big Day Out summer shows have quite deservedly gained the reputation as this hemisphere's premier Outdoor Festival and the juggernaut continues to roll on. 2004 looks set to be one of the best yet including hot 2003 performing acts such as The Mars Volta, The Strokes, Kings Of Leon, The Darkness, Metallica, Peaches, The Flaming Lips, The Dandy Warhols, Audio Bullys, Black Eyed Peas, Muse, Basement Jaxx, Aphex Twin, Luke Vibert plus some of the best NZ has on offer - Blindspott, Concord Dawn, Elemeno P, Salmonella Dub, The D4, The Datsuns, P-Money & Scribe, Mareko, Goodshirt, 8 Foot Sativa, Fat Freddy's Drop, Fur Patrol, Zed, Shapeshifter and The Mint Chicks. Although including acts that will be at the Australian gigs but not at the NZ one (and vice versa) 'Big Day Out 04' is a pretty representative sampler of what the day will be like and so serves as the perfect tempter for the undecided.
