Clever selection of heavily electronic music from one-half the Tyrant DJ duo of Craig Richards and Lee Burridge. Moving away from the mix of tech-house and breaks which categorised their first two "Tyrant" mixes, this double CD set focuses in on much of the brilliant electronic music being made in Europe currently, switching tempos and beat-patterns throughout to ensure the momentum is kept up. This is especially evident on the
second disc, where a good mix of click house and quite heavy techno (verging into electro) are nicely intertwined, slipping down into hip-hop tempo and back out occasionally, notably on the brilliant last few tracks from Air Liquide, Morane and Ada. While it's certainly not what you could describe as an easily accessible collection of music, if you're in any way interested in what constitutes electronic music and techno in
the current climate, this is well worth checking. Moody, brooding, but engrossing throughout, this is one of the better quality mix CD sets you'll find on the market. A real addition to the ever-growing 'Fabric' and 'Fabriclive' series. Recommended.
