Host of US children's show Blues Clues, Steve Burns has somehow convinced The Flaming Lips and Dave Fridmann to play on and produce his debut album. And in Joe's immortal words "it doesn't suck!!!" Actually it does far better than that, Burns' sweet songs about science and love are actually pretty cool, and with the magnificent Flaming Lips adding aural colour and spice in all the right places, this album easily becomes a highly addictive pleasure. So if acts such as the above mentioned Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, Grandaddy, Beta Band and the like do it for you we suggest grabbing this tasty little album. You will quickly be converted (just hope he doesn't go down the old PeeWee Herman road). Recommended.
