Prt wrote his beautiful Nunc Dimittis for the Choir of St Mary's Cathedral, Edinburgh, the group who are heard this disc. He worked with the group in Edinburgh and this recording is the outstanding result of this collaboration. The Op.1 piano work Zwei Sonatinen is one of Prt's earliest works and is written in a different style from that for which he has become famous; more reminiscent of Prokofiev and Shostakovich
