Over a very short period of time the Kaikoura Roots Festival has established itself as one of NZ’s leading outdoor weekend music events. With it’s seaside site lined with trees, the of celebratory vibe & a line up of epic proportions, it stands to reason the event has become such an incredibly important one for so many music lovers nationwide. So we’re delighted to announce the release of the Kaikoura Roots Festival 2005 album, in conjunction with Dub Conspiracy, the production house run by none other than the festival’s organizer, Salmonella Dub’s Andrew Penman. The compilation boasts original tracks, remixes & album sessions outtakes from such heavy-hitting artists as TrinityRoots, John Butler Trio, Shapeshifter, Pitch Black, Resin Dogs, Cornerstone Roots, Kora, Sunshine Soundsystem, DJ Digital and of course, Salmonella Dub, alongside a handful of other local artists, all of whom appeared on stage earlier this year. Included in the CD package is a stunning 32-page booklet featuring colour photos of the 2005 festivities & bands. Also note - this is the first of these compilations have been made available to the public (traditionally the CD is utilized as an add-on to the festival ticket).
