The fourth and final edition in Loop Recordings popular "Green Room" series, the aim of which was to not only raise peoples awareness of Aotearoa's flourishing downbeat roots and electronic music scene, but also their cultural and environmental awareness. A stellar cast insures the series ends with a bang; Green Room veterans Trinity Roots and Fat Freddy's Drop (who's live favourite "Hope" is the albums namesake) return for one last bash. Indie darlings the Phoenix Foundation who's gentle "St. Kevin" fits in surprisingly well here. Kora and Hollie Smith (who's recent independent EPs are must haves) who although being relative newcomers contribute two of the compilation's highlights. Rather fittingly the album closes with a powerful message from Green MP Nandor Tanczos, who along with Loop helped start the series back in 2002. "One Inity" - his collaboration with local producer Module sums up the whole Green Room ethos nicely. Check out the rest of the compilations in the Green Room series- 001: Eco.Nation, 002: Wahine and 003: (Ear)th, all packaged in sexy matching cardboard sleeves (recycled of course!)
