Smoke Notes

Soundtrack for the new Toa Fraser film of the same name, which is being hailed as the "New Whale Rider" by those in the know.
The Original score is written by Don McGlashan (Muttonbirds, Blam Blam Blam) with appearances from local favourites TrinityRoots, Tha Feelstyle, Che Fu and more.
Without a doubt though, the centerpiece of this soundtrack is the lead single "Bathe In The River" written especially for the film and credited to the "Mt. Raskil Preservation Society" whose members include McGlashan and (another former Muttonbird) David Long, with SJD and Fat Freddy's Horn for hire Toby Laing. But it is the lead vocals by Smoke fave Hollie Smith that absolutely steal the show. The womans voice never fails to floor, and this song is no exception. An amazingly talented singer, with a massive future. It's almost worth buying this soundtrack for that track alone, and the appearances from the above mentioned artists - especially the much missed TrinityRoots' "Home Land and Sea", which I'm sure will sound even more heart-wrenching on a big cinema sound system – only sweeten the deal.
