This time last year Love Is The New Hate was released just in time for NZ Music month and was hailed by fans and the band themselves as their "return to form" album after the disillusionment of trying to crack the fickle US market. First single "Alive" announced the arrival of a band with renewed vigour and plenty of fire still burning in their bellies and summed up the new album's vibe with one word - "uncompromising".
To celebrate its release and open 2005's NZ Music Month with a bang, the band performed a free concert in Auckland's Aotea square that was filmed and aired on C4.
After being bombarded with requests to officially release the footage, the band's label has finally succumbed and for this years NZ Music Month Love Is... will feature a bonus DVD featuring this landmark performance in front of 8,000 fans.
The DVD captures the mighty Shihad juggernaut in full flight and all their post-Pacifier glory and vitality as they fire through 12 tracks, old and new to the delighted of the rain-braving masses. Mixed in 5.1 surround, this release is for May's NZ Music Month only and is on a strictly "While Stocks Last" basis. Recommended. (DVD Rated M).
