Our favourite Icelanders return, embarking on their most ambitious project to date! 'Hvarf' and 'Heim' are twin Sigur Ros records, released together they are effectively split into two sides - 'Hvarf' being electric and 'Heim' acoustic. Both albums feature rarities and drastic re-workings of their previous album material with this twin-release coming in support of the band's first ever film, 'Heima' - which is already being called one of the greatest music films of all time! Open it one way and it’s "Hvarf" (“disappeared” or “haven”), a 5 track electric studio record comprising mainly unreleased rarities from Sigur Rós’s back-pages, none of which features on "Heima" (the double DVD release also released this week). It features three previously unreleased songs (Salka, Hljómalind and Í Gær) alongside radical re-workings of two tracks from their debut album "Von"
Open it the other way and it’s "Heim" (“home”), a 6 track live acoustic record, comprising delicate new unplugged versions of some of Sigur Rós’s finest moments, which have never been performed in this way before
