Smoke Notes

Available 3 October 2008

Following on from albums that were justifiably ranked as instant classics, Songs From A Dictaphone, Southern Lights and Lost Soul Music could have been a mission impossible for West Auckland singing songwriting supremo SJD. With Dayglo Spectres, his fifth album he has rewritten the book once again, delivering a collection of crucial cuts that focus on the more uptempo end of the SJD spectrum and dip liberally into the pool of 80s influences. Working closely with collaborator and co-writer James Duncan (SJD band and Dimmer guitarist, as well as Round Trip Mars recording artist in his own right) Sean Donnelly has conjured up ten songs that reek of the quality weve all come to expect, only this time theyre dressed up in their going out clothes.

Nominated for Best Male Vocalist at the 2008 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards and masterminding yet another creative peak with Dayglo Spectres, SJD has conjured up ten strobelight-soaked songs of trademark solidity that will entice newcomers and enchant the increasing faithful.
