Matador Records now release Berlin: Live At St. Ann's Warehouse. Staging Berlin had been discussed for over 30yrs, and in Dec. 2006 it became a reality, over 4 days at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn.

It was the first time Reed performed the album live, and with guests like Fernando Saunder, Antony Hegarty, Rupert Christie, Rob Wasserman and Sharon Jones, a 7-piece orchestra and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, this show magnifies the cinematic quality of the original album and features the 3 encores, Candy Says, Rock Minuet and Sweet Jane!

The film Berlin, by acclaimed painter-turned-director Julian Schnabel (Basquiat), documents these historic shows.

Berlin remains one of the most alarming and frank highlights of a career marked by innovation and candour.

Just as Schnabel's effort is far more ambitious than your average concert film, this release stands as a majestic and poignant re-imagining of one of the twentieth century's most powerful works.
