Since their formation in 1969 by former members of Frank Zappa’s Mothers Of Invention George Lowell and Roy Estrada, keyboardist Bill Payne and drummer Richie Hayward, Little Feat have played an eclectic blend of rock and roll, blues, R&B, boogie, country, folk, gospel, soul, funk and jazz fusion influences. They still tour constantly, and still play songs from these albums, notably the title tracks, New Delhi Freight Train and Old Folks Boogie.
These two albums, from 1977 and 1979, were Little Feat’s last two studio albums with main initial songwriter Lowell George, Down On The Farm being completed after George’s death in June 1979.
